Extremely rare maxi coat by Saint Laurent Rive Gauche Paris. Made in France. 1960s. A very soft textured black velvet/corduroy with short horizontal etched dark gray narrow stripes throughout. Bust/armpit to armpit is 34 inches. Waist is 29 inches. Hips open to 46 inches. Shoulder to shoulder seam is 13-1/2 inches. Juliet sleeve length is 23 inches. Length is 52-1/2 inches. Full skirt section with a wide sweep of 38 inches across one side of the bottom edge. 2 pockets on the side seams. 8 plastic buttons. Fully lined in silky fine black acetate fabric. Original label and a size marking of 40, but actually it’s a much smaller U.S. size about 6. Please make sure to take your own measurements for accurate fit. The only issue I found is a small 3/4 inch spot of roughness to the fabric, but it’s not at all noticeable - located 9 inches from the hem line on the left side of the coat. Wonderful condition. Mannequin measurements are: 34 / 24-1/4 / 34-1/2 inches. Fits her beautifully, a touch snug.
