Real Vintage 1960's - 1970's

A great find for collectors and fans of the LONGCHAMP brand. You won't find another bag like this anywhere in the world, at least not for sale.

The bag is made of soft genuine black leather without a rigid frame. Without things, it can be folded into a bundle measuring 14.57x7.87x2.36 in (37x20x6 cm).

This bag is perfect for both long business trips and weekend getaways out of town. It is roomy enough for everything you need and not bulky. Laconic and stylish design in a classic style, for true connoisseurs of authentic vintage accessories made of genuine leather. It is due to its discreet appearance that the bag is perfect for both women and men.

It has a spacious main compartment for your things with two straps for fixing. Also inside there are two additional flat pockets the entire width under the wall, one of which is on Velcro. There are two compartments on the outside, one large open and one with a zipper. The bag opens like a full-fledged suitcase with two zippers. Beautiful gold fittings, the perfect accent. The bottom of the bag has protection against damage. Comfortable double leather handles with padding. Zippers on the main compartment Prestil, and on the outer pocket there is a clasp where it is written on one side Eclair, and on the other Prestil. Which speaks volumes about the great age of this beautiful accessory. On the front side there is the inscription "LONGCHAMP PARIS MADE IN FRANCE" in gold. Please note that there is no brand logo with a racehorse here yet, it began to be used on bags a little later. The 60's are exactly the time when the brand was just starting to create bags and started with suitcases and travel bags.

THE RISE WITH ORLY

As early as the 1960s, the Orly Sud airport terminal exemplifies a remarkable revolution.

The terminal attracts not only travelers, but also tourists who come to see the planes take off from its open terraces and hoping to meet Audrey Hepburn, Greta Garbo, Romy Schneider, or Ray Charles who chose Orly to give his Parisian interviews.  Philippe recalls: “Very early on my father set up a Longchamp booth in Orly showcasing suitcases. I opened that first store. It was an adventure. By seven in the morning, I was already selling much luggage, and in the afternoon, I was at the office.”

Despite its age, I can confidently say that the bag is in excellent condition. The leather is in amazing condition without deep scratches, no tears, no holes, only some minor abrasions. The corners at the bottom are in excellent condition, only 2 of them are slightly worn (all 4 corners are shown in the photo and video). In some places there are scratches and abrasions on the fittings. In some places there is a slight violation of the stitching on the fabric lining (easy to fix in a workshop).
